(Celebrated 1st May – but felt in the energy of late April)

Beltaine is the great festival of fertility, sacred union, and fire. As one of the key turning points in the Pagan Wheel of the Year, it marks the union of masculine and feminine, earth and sky, wildness and warmth. And while it falls on 1st May, its energy begins stirring throughout April, calling us to awaken.

Where Imbolc brought the spark and Ostara the balance, Beltaine brings the fire.

This is the season of:

Blossoming desire

Joyful creativity

Reconnection with our sensual, embodied selves

Saying YES to life in all its colour

In Celtic tradition, Beltaine bonfires were lit to honour the sun and bless the land with fertile energy. Cattle were walked between the flames for protection. Couples jumped the fire to seal love. It was a celebration of vitality — not just romantic, but creative, physical, and spiritual.

At Cafe In The Calm, we honour Beltaine by asking:

What am I ready to ignite?

Where am I being asked to say yes — not just with words, but with energy and intention?

Let this month be a slow build. A spark. A sacred flirtation with possibility.

You don’t have to burn fast — just begin to glow.
